Celebrating Our 60th Anniversary!
Thank-you to all who came out October 7th, 8th & 9th to celebrate our 60th Anniversary open house.
It was a great success! We had over 500 tree saplings and other swag to hand out, raffle prizes and lots of cake! Around 200 guests came to visit, including MP Jacob Mantle, Uxbridge Mayor Dave Barton, Regional Counsellor Bruce Garrod and Canada Life representative Craig MacTavish. The business received a number of certificates in recognition of the achievement.
Raffle prizes were awarded to the following:
- Rutledge Jewellers $250 gift certificate: R. Evans
- Lavender Field picnic experience for 4: H. Sienerth
- 9 by Tin $250 gift certificate: A. Bolton
- Rutledge Jewellers gold bracelet: B. Pullan
- The Roxy Family fun pack: R. Stewart
Congratulations to all those receiving prizes!
Why Saplings?
As mentioned above, we had over 500 tree saplings available to hand out to clients during our open house. The use of a tree in our logo carries an important meaning. Let us explain…
The saplings were a popular handout! Here are images of them at the open house and in some of their new locations.

We received many well wishes from those who were unable to attend:
“We cannot express the value of your friendship over the years and the confidence in all we entrust to you. We remember our first visit with Lawrence in the home office where we purchased a small life insurance policy praying it would never be necessary to have.
Your support and advice coupled with your truth and honesty have provided us with much confidence over the years.
Congratulations! We feel you have been part of our family.”
“Congrats on all of you for running a successful business for that long. Especially in today’s economic world we all live in. It is a testimony of the high ethics and standards your company adheres to.”
“Congratulations to you and all your staff and we remember your Mom and Dad who built up the business and their dedication to doing things right.”
Here are some images from the event:
It is really quite hard to believe that the Evans financial business has been operating for 60 years!
In the fall of 1965, Laurence and Olive Evans, having sensed God’s direction, set out on a path to establish their business. It must have been quite a concern as their family ended up with 8 children! Yet God faithfully provided through good and lean years. He also provided the strength and inspiration for both to continue in lay ministry and preaching. Their example was instrumental in encouraging the whole family to connect in their own ways to gospel ministry in God’s kingdom.
